This effort has seen a push for good practices and the obtaining of internationally recognised certifications

What is ECST?

European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (ECST) is a management tool which allow to develop a sustainable tourism at the protected natural areas. ECST companies are the ones that make the greatest effort to make their activity sustainable and work together with those who manage natural areas.
The Sustainable Tourism Strategy of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park was developed through a participatory process involving institutions and individuals from both the public and private sectors.
